Free Claude Code Club skills for builders

概要

55 free Claude Code skills for beginners. Each skill lives in its own folder. Grab the one you want, drop it into your Claude Code skills directory, and start using it. That's the whole setup. No API keys. No installs. No scripts to run. If you have Claude Code, these work. Join the Claude Code Club — learn Claude Code plus all my resources, for just $9. Everything here runs the moment you drop the folder in. No API keys, no installs, no accounts to wire up. These skills teach you Claude Code, get your first things built and live, and help you tell people about them. That's the heavier set — full content pipelines, video and thumbnail generation, carousel rendering, publishing automations, site builders. Those skills do more, but they need API keys, connected tools, and a bit of setup. Start here, go there when the simple version stops being enough. Some skills appear in both. Same skill, no catch. Run personalize first.

Is this the right repo for you?

Yes, if you’re new. Everything here runs the moment you drop the folder in. No API keys, no installs, no accounts to wire up. These skills teach you Claude Code, get your first things built and live, and help you tell people about them.

You’ll want profit-room-skills once you’re past that. That’s the heavier set — full content pipelines, video and thumbnail generation, carousel rendering, publishing automations, site builders. Those skills do more, but they need API keys, connected tools, and a bit of setup. Start here, go there when the simple version stops being enough.

Some skills appear in both. Same skill, no catch.

Start here

Run personalize first. It asks you a few questions about your name, niche, offer, and audience, then saves the answers to ~/.claude/brand-profile.md.

A lot of these skills read that file. That’s how they write in your voice, for your audience, without you re-explaining yourself every time. You only do this once.

Then run claude-orientation to pick your first build and write down tonight’s next move.

The 55 skills

Setup

Skill What it does
personalize Sets up your brand profile so the other skills write in your voice. Run this first, once.

Learn Claude Code

Your first week. These make the tool stop being scary.

Skill What it does
claude-orientation You installed it, now what. Picks ONE build to focus on and writes tonight’s single next move.
brief-builder Turns a vague ask into a surgical brief you paste straight into Claude. Context, goal, constraints, format, done-when.
prompt-fixer You got bad output. Paste the prompt you used and find out why it failed, plus the rewritten version.
error-decoder Paste any error or red text. Get what broke in plain English, whether you can ignore it, and the exact sentence to send Claude.
explain-this Paste any file, folder, or config and get a beginner-level explanation of what it is and which parts you’d ever touch.
safety-net Sets up your two undo systems so you can experiment without fear of breaking something.

Work with Claude well

Habits and reusable systems that make every later session better.

Skill What it does
claude-md-builder Builds the CLAUDE.md memory file for a project so Claude stops forgetting your rules every session.
skill-starter Turns a job you keep repeating into your own working skill. This is the one that makes you a builder.
plan-first Decides what gets built — and what explicitly does not — before Claude touches anything.
session-wrapup Ends your session with what changed and one line for tomorrow, so reopening takes 5 minutes not 30.
stuck-unstick You’re going in circles. Diagnoses which trap you’re in and hands you the exact next sentence to send.
weekly-review A Sunday reset. What shipped, what stalled, and the one thing for next week.

Build your first things

Skill What it does
first-website Your first real website, built by describing it. Runs the full loop: describe, preview, react, repeat, ship.
landing-page A page with one job: capture a lead. One headline, one form, one button.
link-in-bio Your own branded link page instead of a rented Linktree. Built phone-first, because that’s where it gets opened.
sales-page A page that looks like a real product. Value before price, proof before the ask.
simple-game A playable browser game in one sitting. The easiest impressive thing a beginner can ship.
deploy-it Gets what you built onto a real public URL for free, so you can text the link to someone.

Make it look good

Skill What it does
design-taste Screenshot sites you love and get back a written design system so your builds stop looking like templates.
make-it-designed A polish pass on something you already built. Refine, don’t rebuild.
mobile-check Reviews your page the way someone on a phone will actually see it, with a ranked fix list.
waitlist-page A coming-soon page that collects emails before you spend three months building.
quote-calculator An instant-quote widget for a service business. Picks a few options, shows a range, captures the lead.
simple-tracker A small dashboard that runs in your browser and saves to your device. No login, no database, no monthly bill.

Everyday tasks

Things Claude Code is quietly great at, before you build anything.

Skill What it does
email-writer The email you’ve been avoiding. Chasing an invoice, saying no, following up for the third time.
doc-digest Point it at a long document and get what actually matters: the decisions, the numbers, the traps.
decision-helper You’re stuck between options. Forces a real recommendation and the first move today.
learn-anything Teaches you a topic at your real level, with a practice ladder instead of a lecture.
rewrite-plain Rewrites anything into language a busy person understands on the first read.
research-brief Turns “I need to understand this before Monday” into a one-page sourced brief.

Get your offer right

Skill What it does
offer-builder Builds a Grand Slam Offer using the Value Equation — stacked deliverables, a name, a guarantee, a one-line pitch.
positioning-filter Finds the one angle that makes you different, so you stop sounding like everyone else in your niche.
pricing-calculator Prices your offer on the outcome the buyer gets, not on your hours. Three tiers and the value story.
repeatable-offer Finds the repeatable 80% of your custom work and wraps it in a fixed name, scope, price, and delivery checklist.
first-product Interviews you on what you know and writes a complete, sellable digital guide plus the storefront listing copy.
more-from-buyers Finds 3 to 5 ways to make more from the customers you already have, ranked by effort.

Get customers

Skill What it does
warm-outreach A ranked list of people who already trust you, plus a first message that opens a conversation.
dm-writer One short, human DM to one specific person for one specific reason.
first-customer-closer Turns “someone’s interested and I don’t know what to say” into a calm script. For people who hate selling.
objection-handler Honest answers to “too expensive”, “no time”, and “let me think about it” — without freezing.
proposal-writer Turns messy notes from one real conversation into a clean, ready-to-send proposal with a price table.

Tell people what you built

Shipping is half the job. This is the other half.

Skill What it does
caption-writer The caption for a post about something you made. First line does all the work.
thread-writer One idea turned into a thread people actually finish.
carousel-writer The words for every slide, in order. Slide 1 has to work alone.
bio-writer Your profile bio for each platform, in the right length. Makes the right person stay.
case-study Turns one win into something you can send a prospect. Never invents numbers.
testimonial-ask The ask, sent at the right moment, with the three questions that produce a usable quote.
launch-plan Picks the right launch type for your stage and builds a dated, day-by-day plan with an asset checklist.
content-prompt One question worth answering on camera, plus five hooks and text overlays.
daily-post-ideas Five LinkedIn post ideas, each with a ready-to-paste hook line.
hooks YouTube hooks using the Kallaway desire framework, each one scored.
dissect Paste a post that’s performing and find out why it works, plus a brief to rebuild the mechanism.

Everything else

Skill What it does
meeting-notes Turns any meeting transcript into a clean summary with decisions and action items.
fable-goal Turns a rough, spoken-out-loud idea into one exceptional /goal prompt for a fresh Fable session.

A suggested order

If you want a path instead of a menu:

Week 1 — get set up and ship something

  1. /personalize — set up your profile
  2. /claude-orientation — pick ONE build
  3. /safety-net — learn the two undo buttons so you stop being careful
  4. /first-website or /simple-game — build the thing
  5. /deploy-it — get it on a real URL and send it to one person

Week 2 — make it good and tell people

  1. /design-taste — write down a look that’s yours
  2. /make-it-designed and /mobile-check — polish it
  3. /caption-writer — post about it

Week 3 — turn it into money

  1. /offer-builder — build something worth selling
  2. /pricing-calculator — put a real number on it
  3. /warm-outreach then /dm-writer — find the first people to tell
  4. /first-customer-closer and /objection-handler — have the conversation

Then /session-wrapup at the end of each night and /weekly-review on Sundays, so none of it gets lost.

How to install a skill

A skill is just a folder with a SKILL.md inside. To install one:

  1. Download the folder for the skill you want (see Downloading a single folder below).
  2. Move it into your Claude Code skills directory:
    • Personal (all projects): ~/.claude/skills/
    • Project-only: .claude/skills/ inside the project
  3. Restart Claude Code (or start a new session).
  4. The skill is now live. Invoke it by typing / followed by the skill name, for example /personalize.

Your folder should end up looking like this:

~/.claude/skills/
└── personalize/
    └── SKILL.md

Downloading a single folder

You don’t have to clone the whole repo. A few easy ways to grab just one folder:

Option A — clone once, copy what you want

git clone https://github.com/duncan-buildroom/freeskills.git
cp -r freeskills/personalize ~/.claude/skills/

Option B — install all 55 at once

git clone https://github.com/duncan-buildroom/freeskills.git
cd freeskills
for d in */; do cp -r "$d" ~/.claude/skills/; done

Option C — download the whole repo as a ZIP

Click the green Code button on the repo page, choose Download ZIP, unzip it, and copy the folder you want into ~/.claude/skills/.

Make your own

Once you’ve used a few of these, run skill-starter. It turns a job you keep repeating into your own skill, saved to your machine and invoked with a slash command.

That’s the real point of this repo. These 55 are a starting set. The ones you build for yourself are the ones you’ll use every day.
