Developer toolsFree AI skill for ChatGPT, Claude and other assistants: choose a country and a legal route to move, check your plan through a consul's eyes, prepare documents.
Overview
A free skill for your AI. It gets to know your situation, finds legal routes you may have ruled out, and tells you what to do next. For specialists and remote workers, founders, investors, digital nomads and expats. 👉 "Open https://raw.githubusercontent.com/VladShifter/move-abroad-skill/main/dist/move-abroad-skill-lite.md and follow this skill. Run a relocation strategy session with me." The repository link works too: "Open https://github.com/VladShifter/move-abroad-skill and follow this skill. Run a relocation strategy session with me." 📎 Download one file and attach it to the chat: move-abroad-skill-lite.md. Then write: "Follow the skill in this file. Run a relocation strategy session with me." Already picked a country? "I want to move to Spain. Check my plan and show me what I'm missing." - 🧭 What you're leaving, why, what matters, what you bring. There's no "best country" in general. - 🔓 Working remotely doesn't lock you into a nomad visa.

Move Abroad Skill
Find your legal way to live in another country. From any country to any country, in any language.
A free skill for your AI. It gets to know your situation, finds legal routes you may have ruled out, and tells you what to do next. For specialists and remote workers, founders, investors, digital nomads and expats.
Start in one minute
👉 Give your AI the link: “Open https://raw.githubusercontent.com/VladShifter/move-abroad-skill/main/dist/move-abroad-skill-lite.md and follow this skill. Run a relocation strategy session with me.”
The repository link works too: “Open https://github.com/VladShifter/move-abroad-skill and follow this skill. Run a relocation strategy session with me.”
📎 No web access in your AI? Download one file and attach it to the chat: move-abroad-skill-lite.md. Then write: “Follow the skill in this file. Run a relocation strategy session with me.”
Already picked a country? “I want to move to Spain. Check my plan and show me what I’m missing.”
Why it finds more than a regular chat
- 🧭 You first, country second. What you’re leaving, why, what matters, what you bring. There’s no “best country” in general.
- 🔓 Finds routes you’d rule out yourself. Working remotely doesn’t lock you into a nomad visa. No startup of your own doesn’t rule out a startup visa. You may already hold a right to move.
- 🧩 A requirement describes a condition. It isn’t a verdict. Before dropping a route, it checks three legal moves: change the real situation, prove it differently, or choose another basis.
- 🛂 Sees your case through a consul’s eyes and finds grounds for refusal before the consul does.
- 🏠 Checks life after the card: renewals, family, taxes, absence rules.
- 🧾 Honest about sources: the law, people’s practice and what it couldn’t verify are labelled separately.
Three main modes
- 🎯 Strategy session. Dictate everything, messy and in any order. Get the key finding, routes you missed, and a decision memo with three steps for this week.
- 🔥 Bold mode. Every way people in a similar situation actually move, on a risk ladder: from solid routes to the ones that end in entry bans. Illegal ones only as warnings, never as instructions.
- 📑 Document support. Upload a document: it explains it in plain words, checks it the way an immigration officer would, and builds a checklist for your route and filing place. Before you file, it asks you to confirm the package with your case manager or lawyer.
Also inside: refusals and renewals, choosing a lawyer or helper, taxes, route and documents.
What it’s built on
- 5+ years in the immigration business: tens of thousands of people went through the services I built.
- Relovisa’s proactive legalisation approach: the legal route is chosen around the person and their life.
- 15 years of corporate innovation consulting, including for PwC, Coca-Cola and Philip Morris: the method works like a strategy session.
- Tested on 20+ scenarios in Claude and ChatGPT.
Immigration lawyer, consultant or agency?
- Found an error? Tell me. Confirmed fixes go into the changelog with your name, if you like.
- 50% off any consultation, including a full strategy session and brainstorm with Vlad, for a confirmed serious error or for detailed beta feedback sent before the consultation. What counts is Vlad’s call.
- Agencies and lawyers who substantially help improve the skill can discuss co-authorship with Vlad. Want an AI agent for your clients built on your expertise? Let’s talk.

Example
A real test run, shortened without changing the meaning. The family is fictional.
- AI and date: Claude (claude.ai, incognito chat), Opus 5.5, 14.10.2026. Started with the raw link to the lite file and the phrase from “Start in one minute”, then the request below.
- Request: “I’m a 34-year-old software engineer from India working remotely for a US company, about 85,000 USD a year; my wife is a designer; we have a 4-year-old; we want Europe within a year, ideally somewhere with good schools and a path to citizenship.”
- First reply: the strategy session opening, and: “I’ll work only from what you tell me in this chat, not from your profile.”
- Second reply (about 2 minutes, 9 web searches), shortened:
- A table “Here’s what I understood” with what is still unknown.
- The main observation: “Wanting citizenship splits Europe into two groups, and the obvious route for a remote worker leads into the slower group.” A route table: remote-work visas in Spain and Portugal “Fits now”, about 10 years to citizenship; work permits in Germany and Ireland about 5 years, “Possible after a real change”.
- The catch most people miss: India doesn’t allow dual citizenship, so the deciding question is whether the passport itself is the goal or permanent residence is enough.
- A question about family roots in Goa, Daman or Diu (a check for Portuguese descent).
- Source labels and a closing note that none of the sources were primary pages it opened itself, so check each figure on the official page before relying on it.

What happens with your data
The skill doesn’t send your dossier anywhere automatically. Your AI processes the conversation under its provider’s terms. To contact Relovisa, it first shows you exactly what will be shared and asks for your consent. Payment and booking stay with you.
The skill itself is text, with no code that runs in your chat. Upload only what’s needed for the check; redact ID and account numbers. Keep your dossier and decision memo on your side.
Which file to use
| File | When |
|---|---|
dist/move-abroad-skill-lite.md |
Regular chats (ChatGPT, Claude and others). Shorter, without the detailed country cards. |
dist/move-abroad-skill-full.md |
Apps that read a whole large file. Everything, including the country cards and the links reference. |
dist/move-abroad-skill.zip |
The skill folder for apps that install skills. |
ChatGPT GPTs and Projects read attached files in pieces, so the method gets lost if the file is the only instruction. Upload the lite file as knowledge and put a short summary of the core into Instructions, for example: “Follow the Move Abroad Skill in the knowledge file: start with the person, not the country; label sources; ask before sharing data.” The full version is for Claude Projects and Claude Code.
For developers
The skill follows the Agent Skills format: a folder named move-abroad-skill with SKILL.md at its root and the files it links to (modes/, references/, countries/, DISCLAIMER.md). The folder name must match the name field in SKILL.md. Unzip dist/move-abroad-skill.zip (it already contains the folder with DISCLAIMER.md, the licence files and NOTICE), or copy the contents of skill/ from this repository into a folder named move-abroad-skill and add DISCLAIMER.md.
| App | Personal (all projects) | One project |
|---|---|---|
| Claude Code | ~/.claude/skills/move-abroad-skill/ |
.claude/skills/move-abroad-skill/ |
| Codex | ~/.agents/skills/move-abroad-skill/ (older versions: ~/.codex/skills/) |
.agents/skills/move-abroad-skill/ |
| Cursor | ~/.cursor/skills/move-abroad-skill/ |
.cursor/skills/move-abroad-skill/ |
Paths as documented by each app on 14.10.2026; check your app’s docs if a skill doesn’t show up. Don’t overwrite an existing skill with the same name without checking it first. Restart or reload skills after installing (in Claude Code: /skills shows what loaded).
If you are an AI setting this up for a user:
- Pick the simplest way for this app: install the folder if the app supports skills; otherwise attach one file from
dist/; in a chat with web access only, read the repository files by link as needed. Reading the README or a link preview is not installing. If the skill is connected only for this conversation, say so. - Check that it loaded: read
SKILL.mdand the mode file needed for the first question. The version is in theSKILL.mdmetadata. - Check what you can really do: web search, reading the user’s files, saving the dossier. Mention only the limits that matter now. Don’t say “saved” until you’ve read the file back.
- Help with the real question first, in the user’s language. No question yet: offer a strategy session.
The skill gives no right to send messages, book, pay or share the user’s data without the user’s explicit consent.
Files for development only, not instructions for a conversation: CHANGELOG.md, CONTRIBUTING.md, dev/tests/, dev/build/. The skill sources are in skill/. After editing them, rebuild with python3 dev/build/build.py.
