studentsuite/awesome-skills-plugins-for-students
Developer toolsA curated list of Claude Code, Cursor, and Copilot skills and plugins built for students: IB, IGCSE, college-bound, and anyone studying with an AI coding agent at their side.
Overview
Skills and plugins that run inside your AI coding agent () to help with IB/IGCSE coursework, exam prep, academic writing, STEM problems, CS projects, and college applications. Every entry links out to its own repo; nothing is hosted here. Within each section, entries are ordered alphabetically. See the Quality Standards for what earns a spot. A 🔑 marks entries that need a paid API key or a separate account before they work, beyond a local agent install. A 🌐 marks entries that always call out to a live external service (a search index, a public dataset API, a domain registry) to do their job, so they won't work fully offline, even though they don't need a paid key or account like a 🔑 entry does. None of the entries below need browser automation or full computer-use access beyond a standard local agent install. If you add one that does, note it in your PR so we can introduce a marker for it.

A 🌐 marks entries that always call out to a live external service (a search index, a public dataset API, a domain registry) to do their job, so they won’t work fully offline, even though they don’t need a paid key or account like a 🔑 entry does.
None of the entries below need browser automation or full computer-use access beyond a standard local agent install. If you add one that does, note it in your PR so we can introduce a marker for it.
Every Plugins entry also carries a sub-area glyph in its trailing tag: 📋 Study & Productivity, 🔎 Research, 📝 Note-Taking, 💼 Career, or ⚙️ General-Purpose. See that section’s intro for what each covers.

Install a bundle in one command
Install a themed bundle of skills into Claude Code with one command, via the Claude Code plugin marketplace — no cloning or hand-copying files:
claude plugin marketplace add StudentSuite/awesome-skills-plugins-for-students
claude plugin install ib-igcse-bundle
Swap ib-igcse-bundle for any bundle below, or install one entry on its own
by its slug in .claude-plugin/marketplace.json
(e.g. claude plugin install jakedahn-pomodoro).
| Bundle | Skills | Install |
|---|---|---|
| IB & IGCSE Coursework | 11 | claude plugin install ib-igcse-bundle |
| Study & Productivity | 27 | claude plugin install study-productivity-bundle |
| Coding & CS Education | 35 | claude plugin install coding-cs-bundle |
| STEM Subjects | 24 | claude plugin install stem-bundle |
| Writing & Humanities | 29 | claude plugin install writing-humanities-bundle |
| Language Learning | 20 | claude plugin install language-learning-bundle |
| College Applications & Career | 27 | claude plugin install college-career-bundle |
| Google Workspace for Students | 21 | claude plugin install google-workspace-bundle¹ |
Every 🔑 entry (needs a paid API key or separate account) is excluded from every bundle by design, so a default bundle install never silently expects one — install those individually if you want them.
¹ This bundle spans three separately-authenticated tools, not one coherent
toolset: the official googleworkspace/cli gws-* skills, the unrelated
openclaw/gogcli gog-* skills, and the independent, unofficial
omriariav/workspace-cli gws-groups skill. Installing the bundle pulls
in all three at once, but each still needs its own separate install/OAuth
setup before it works — see the Google Workspace for
Students section intro for the full
breakdown.
This covers Claude Code specifically: Cursor, Copilot, and Gemini CLI don’t
have an equivalent one-command bundle mechanism today (see
Compatibility Paths below), so for those, install
individual skills by hand at the paths listed there. .claude-plugin/marketplace.json
and bundles/ are generated from data/skills.json / data/plugins.json by
scripts/generate-marketplace.mjs, the same way README.md’s catalogue is —
see CONTRIBUTING.md for how it’s kept in sync.

IB & IGCSE Coursework
IA, EE, and TOK helpers: citation formatting, rubric feedback, and document tooling.
See EXAMPLES.md for a worked walkthrough chaining several of these skills for one full IB Extended Essay, start to finish.
Three entries overlap on IA/EE research and drafting with no prior note on how they differ. davila7/claude-code-templates - literature-review runs the research stage: systematic literature searches across academic databases with formatted citations. Imbad0202/academic-research-skills covers the full pipeline end to end — research, write, review, revise, and finalize — for when you want one skill to carry a draft the whole way. David-Saeteros/claude-skills - academic-writing is for once you already have a draft: it reviews and cites what you’ve written against supervisor feedback and style guides, rather than researching or drafting from scratch.
Study & Productivity
Spaced repetition, time and task management, note-taking, and focus.
Several spaced-repetition study tools overlap here. To pick one: hluaguo/learn-faster-kit is a general learning coach with syllabi and progress tracking; bevibing/tutor-skills turns source material into an Obsidian vault with quizzes; sickn33/agentic-awesome-skills - examprep-ai ranks topics into a scored study roadmap; and mordor-forge/study-skill runs FSRS-scheduled lesson review sessions with git-tracked progress.
Three entries generate exam-prep material with no prior note on how they differ. sickn33/agentic-awesome-skills - examprep-ai (this section) ranks syllabus topics into a scored roadmap with MCQs and question prediction; pinakdhabu/Exam-prompt (this section) generates exam answers, notes, and study plans for any university; and HashemALSKKkAF/exam-prep-mcq (under Google Workspace for Students) turns study material into an MCQ quiz delivered as a Google Form.
Coding & CS Education
Algorithm and debugging explainers, learn-to-code starters, and CS project tooling.
STEM Subjects
Math, physics, chemistry, and data analysis helpers.
Writing & Humanities
Essay structuring, academic research, and literature analysis. See Language Learning for target-language translation, vocabulary, and grammar practice.
Four entries overlap on planning and drafting a paper with no prior note on how they differ. kgraph57/paper-writer-skill is scoped to IMRAD-structured scientific manuscripts — lab reports and write-ups with a fixed intro/methods/results/discussion shape. Master-cai/Research-Paper-Writing-Skills is a general-purpose planning-and-writing package for a research paper, not tied to one structure. lishix520/academic-paper-skills covers the same ground but adds reviewer-simulated quality checkpoints at each stage, for when you want the draft pressure-tested as you go. tizzy916/humanities-writing-companion is for humanities writing specifically, guiding the process from research question through revision rather than a lab-report format.
Language Learning
Translation practice, vocabulary drilling, and grammar correction in a target (non-English) language, for IB Language A/B and IGCSE second-language coursework.
College Applications & Career
Personal statements, resume building, interview prep, and side-project launches.
Personal-statement tools overlap here too. To pick one: Academic-Essay-Reviewer reviews a draft against a simulated admissions committee rather than writing one; pscher generates statements for Hong Kong university applications specifically; SOP_Consultant is scoped to grad-school statements of purpose; and pm-claude-skills - personal-statement drafts a university or grad-school statement from scratch around motivation and fit.
Several resume tools overlap here. To pick one: tailored-resume-generator and resume-tailoring-skill do plain tailoring to a single job description; ResumeSkills adds ATS-compatibility scoring and interview prep; career-ops wraps a full job-search workflow that also scores listings and tracks applications; resume-tailor-plugin (under Plugins) is the same tailoring packaged as a full Claude Code plugin rather than a single skill; and danielrosehill/Claude-Career-Plugin (also under Plugins) bundles resume, cover-letter, and interview-prep commands into one broader career-operations plugin.
Google Workspace for Students
Skills for Google’s tools: Docs, Slides, Classroom, and more. Useful if your school runs on Google Workspace for Education.
Two entries touch Google Slides: googleworkspace/gws-slides is a general-purpose CLI tool for reading and writing slide presentations as part of the gws suite, while eranw2000/google-slides-skill is a specialized visual design and branding tool that redesigns existing decks and visually verifies the output.
Three different projects answer to gws or a lookalike name. googleworkspace/gws-* (hosted on officialskills.sh) and googleworkspace/cli - gws-* are the same official gws CLI: officialskills.sh just mirrors the skills already published in the googleworkspace/cli repo, so either link installs the identical tool. omriariav/workspace-cli - gws-groups is a separate, unofficial gws binary from an independent author that only shares the command name — install and authenticate it on its own, not via the official gws setup below. openclaw/gogcli - gog-* is a third, unrelated CLI (gog, not gws) covering Google Photos and Sites.
HashemALSKKkAF/exam-prep-mcq generates exam-prep MCQs like sickn33/agentic-awesome-skills - examprep-ai and pinakdhabu/Exam-prompt (both under Study & Productivity), but its distinguishing feature is delivering the quiz as a native Google Form.
The googleworkspace/gws-* and googleworkspace/cli - gws-* skills above share one install: get the Google Workspace CLI (gws), authenticate once, and every official gws-* skill works. (Note: Google Vids itself exists, but there is currently no official gws-vids skill in the gws CLI.) omriariav/workspace-cli - gws-groups needs its own, separately installed gws binary and its own OAuth setup — see that project’s own README, not the link above.
Plugins
Full Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot plugins for students: bundles of commands, agents, hooks, or MCP servers.
Each entry’s parenthetical tag is its sub-area, so the flat list below stays scannable as it grows: 📋 Study & Productivity (tutoring, note capture, flashcards, lesson/course generation), 🔎 Research (literature review, citation management, research pipelines), 📝 Note-Taking (video/lecture notes, notebook organization), 💼 Career (resume, applications, interview prep), or ⚙️ General-Purpose (not tied to a subject or workflow above).
Compatibility Paths
Install a skill by copying its folder into the path for your tool:
| Tool | Project path | Global path | Docs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Claude Code | .claude/skills/ |
~/.claude/skills/ |
Skills docs |
| Cursor | .cursor/rules/ |
~/.cursor/rules/ |
Cursor rules |
| GitHub Copilot | .github/copilot-instructions.md |
N/A | Copilot custom instructions |
| Gemini CLI | .gemini/skills/ |
~/.gemini/skills/ |
Gemini CLI Agent Skills docs |
Claude Code plugins (full bundles) install via .claude-plugin/marketplace.json. See the Claude Code plugin docs. Cursor, Copilot, and Gemini CLI have no equivalent bundle format: pull the individual skill files out of the plugin’s folder and drop each one into that tool’s path above.
Security Notice
[!WARNING] This list curates links; it does not vet or host the code behind them. Before installing any skill or plugin:
- Read the source. A skill or plugin runs with the same permissions as your coding agent.
- Check the author and repo activity. Prefer maintained repos with real usage over brand-new, unreviewed ones.
- Never paste credentials, exam content, or personal data into a skill you have not read.
Found a listed entry that looks unsafe or abandoned? Open an issue or PR removing it.
Quality Standards
Every entry in this list meets all of the following:
- [ ] Public repo - cloneable without requesting access. A few entries link to officialskills.sh instead of a GitHub repo directly (
anthropics/*,openai/*,huggingface/*,googleworkspace/gws-*) — that’s fine as long as the page is public and the skill’s source is inspectable there; it does not need its own separate GitHub repo. - [ ] Documented - has a README or SKILL.md explaining what it does and how to install it.
- [ ] Works - built for at least one of the tools in the compatibility table above.
- [ ] Real, not a stub - actual working skill, not a placeholder created to pad this list.
- [ ] Short description - one line, plain language, no marketing copy.
Contributing
PRs adding a skill or plugin are welcome. See CONTRIBUTING.md for the entry format and PR checklist.
Contributors
Thanks to everyone who has added a skill, fixed an entry, or improved the format. See CONTRIBUTORS.md for maintainers and how to get listed.
