Paper trading is ON by default. Right after install you’re in a fake-money sandbox trading against live market data — no authorization and no deposit required. Practice as long as you like. You only need to create an account, deposit, and authorize when you decide to switch to real money (see Going live with real money).

Prerequisites

• Agent CLI — must be installed and running in a terminal. Skills are not available in browser chat, IDE extensions, or plugins.

The following are needed only to trade real money — paper trading needs neither:

• Account — Create one at https://admin.neverbell.com/
• Funds — Click “Deposit Cash” → Add funds to your account using your preferred method

1. Install the skill

Replace `` with your agent (claude, codex, openclaw, or hermes):

The installer fetches the latest version of the skill package, verifies integrity, and registers it in your agent environment.

Running one agent inside another? (e.g. the Claude Code CLI inside another runtime) Pick the `` matching the skills directory your session actually reads, which may not be the wrapper’s brand — for the Claude Code CLI that’s claude. Picking the wrong one is the #1 cause of “skill not found.”

2. Launch

In your terminal, type your agent name to start it. For example:

claude

Replace claude with codex, openclaw, or hermes if using a different agent.

Tip: If your agent has a desktop application (e.g. Claude Code for Desktop), you can use Neverbell there too — no terminal needed. Just open the app, run set up Neverbell once, and return to the same chat session whenever you want to trade.

Then inside the agent:

set up Neverbell

This loads the Neverbell skill. You start in paper mode (fake money) right away — no login needed. Try prompts like “buy $100 of BTC” or “what’s my paper balance?” and the agent simulates everything against live prices.

Going live with real money

When you’re ready to trade real funds, tell the agent something like “switch to real money”. It will:

1. Make sure you’re authorized — if not, it gives you an authorization URL. Open it, log in to your Neverbell account (must be funded), then copy the neverbell:... code the page shows you back to the agent. This hand-off happens once; after it, trading runs locally with no further logins.
2. Confirm with you before switching — the next trade after switching spends real funds, so the agent always double-checks first.

To go back to the sandbox at any time, just say “switch to paper trading”.
