An English speaking practice skill for Codex/ChatGPT: Identify topics in conversations and complete scenario-based training, providing progressive Chinese prompts and light error correction during the process. After finishing, it automatically organizes real performance, corrections, and next steps, saving it to the local review desk.

What can be done?

• Covers real-world scenarios such as supermarkets, gyms, coffee shops, restaurants, hotels, airports, hairdressing, and interviews, and also supports custom themes
• Offers four training paces: 5, 10, 20, and 40 minutes, with beginner, intermediate, and advanced difficulty levels
• Offers three support modes: immersive, guided, and learning; The course objectives remain unchanged, only adjusting the timing of Chinese prompts and sentence pattern supports
• Preview key vocabulary, practical phrases, and complete sentence patterns before starting role-playing; 5 / 10 / 20 / 40 minutes provide 15 / 20 / 30 / 40 scenario vocabulary words respectively
• Step-by-step assistance is provided according to “Chinese intent prompt → English keywords → complete demonstration.”
• Only correct issues that affect understanding, recurre, or are directly related to the lesson objectives
• Distinguish between standalone use, prompted use, and imitation use, avoiding mistaking “seen” as “mastered”
• Archive training results as JSON and Markdown, and provide a local visual review desk
• English materials use independent english_kouyu source scopes and do not include multilingual sample courses

Installation

Python 3.10+ (standard library only, no pip / Node.js / API Key needed), Git, and a client capable of loading local Skills and executing scripts. Topics, duration, and assistance methods are all determined in the chat; Webpages are only responsible for viewing, correcting, and retraining schedules, and do not directly initiate AI conversations or voice calls. Regular chat pages cannot read native Skills or save local records by simply typing $kouyu.

Clone the repository to Codex’s Skills directory:

You can use it after reopening Codex. You can also copy the full directory of this repository into the Skills directory of the client you are using.

Windows PowerShell：

If installed, do not clone repeatedly; Run git pull --ff-only updates in the installation directory. If you have configured a custom Skills directory, please replace the path accordingly.

Start practicing

To be direct:

Skill will be used as a preview card. When ready, say **“I’m ready.” **Start role-playing; When you want to end and review the report, say **“Let’s wrap up.” **。

Local Review Station

The following relative path commands are all executed in the root directory of the repository (the directory containing SKILL.md). serve will automatically initialize the empty workbench and can be started directly:

After Windows installation, it can start from any directory and consistently use the same data:

The default address is **http://127.0.0.1:8765/**。保持终端运行，按 Ctrl+C stop. The workbench does not require topic selection again; It only shows the current mastery level automatically archived after the dialogue ends, original sentences and natural modifications, next focus and migration exercises, and refreshes regularly.
