📖 Overview

Research Skill Marketplace is an open-source collection of Claude skills built for researchers, academics, and knowledge workers. Compatible with Claude Code, Claude.ai, and Claude Desktop. Each skill is a fully independent plugin — English and Chinese versions are separate and can be installed individually.

📦 Quick Install

Claude Code

Step 1: Register the marketplace:

/plugin marketplace add Diaugeia/Research-Skill-Marketplace

Step 2: Install the skills you need:

/plugin install paper-analysis@research-skill-marketplace
/plugin install paper-mindmap@research-skill-marketplace
/plugin install paper-review@research-skill-marketplace
/plugin install paper-promo@research-skill-marketplace

Or browse and install interactively — select Browse and install plugins → research-skill-marketplace → pick the skills you want.

Claude.ai (Web) / Claude Desktop

1. Go to the Releases page and download the .zip file for the skill you want (e.g., paper-analysis.zip)
2. Claude.ai: Go to claude.ai → Settings → Customize → Skills → click “+” → Upload a skill → select the .zip
3. Claude Desktop: Open Claude Desktop → Settings → Skills → upload the .zip

You can also clone the repo and package skills yourself:

🚀 Usage

Prerequisites

• Any Claude platform: Claude Code, Claude.ai, or Claude Desktop
• (Optional) edge-tts MCP for podcast audio generation (Claude Code / Desktop only)

Step 1: Install Skills

See Quick Install above for platform-specific instructions. After installation, skills are automatically registered and ready to use.

Step 2: Provide a Paper

You can provide your paper in any of the following ways:

• Upload a PDF — Drag and drop or paste a PDF file directly into Claude Code
• Paste text — Copy and paste the paper content, abstract, or URL
• Mention a paper — Simply refer to a paper by name or arXiv ID

Step 3: Trigger a Skill

Skills are triggered automatically based on your intent. Just describe what you want in natural language:

Shared core content: the framework shared by multiple skills (paper_core.md / rebuttal_core.md) lives only in shared-src/. It is inlined into each SKILL.md between / markers by ./scripts/sync-shared.sh, so every plugin is a single self-contained file. Edit only shared-src/, never inside the markers. package-skill.sh refuses to package if blocks are out of sync.

🆕 Add a New Skill

Use the built-in scaffold script to create a new skill:

./scripts/new-skill.sh  ""

Example:

./scripts/new-skill.sh rebuttal-craft "Craft rebuttal letters for paper reviews"

This will:

• Create the plugin directory with English & Chinese skill templates
• Generate plugin.json with metadata
• Auto-register the new skill in marketplace.json

Then replace the generated SKILL.md files with your actual skill instructions.
