CompanyEnrich skill for Claude

A Claude skill that teaches Claude how to use the CompanyEnrich API — company enrichment, firmographic search, similar-company discovery, people search, and work-email finding — with your own API key.

Once installed, just ask Claude things like:

  • “Enrich stripe.com and summarize the company”
  • “Find B2B SaaS companies in Germany with 51–200 employees using HubSpot”
  • “Find 10 companies similar to notion.so”
  • “Find heads of marketing at these 20 domains and get their work emails”

Claude checks your credit balance, uses the free count/preview endpoints before spending credits, and asks for confirmation before any large spend.

Prerequisites

  • A CompanyEnrich account and API key — generate one in your dashboard.
  • Claude Code (CLI or desktop app), or another Claude surface that supports skills.

Install

/plugin marketplace add companyenrich/skill
/plugin install companyenrich@companyenrich

Option B — copy the skill folder

Copy skills/companyenrich/ into your skills directory:

  • Per-user: ~/.claude/skills/companyenrich/
  • Per-project: /.claude/skills/companyenrich/

Option C — Claude desktop / web app (chat)

Download companyenrich-skill.zip from the latest release, then in the Claude app go to Customize → Skills → + → Upload a skill and upload it.

Releases

Prebuilt archives for every version are on the Releases page:

  • companyenrich-skill.zip — the bare skill, for Claude app uploads or manual installs in any Agent Skills-compatible tool
  • companyenrich.plugin — the full plugin bundle (manifest + skill), for Claude plugin installs

Use with Codex and other agents

The skill follows the open Agent Skills standard (SKILL.md), so it also works in OpenAI Codex, Gemini CLI, and other compatible agents — no changes needed.

Codex (CLI, IDE extension, or app): copy or symlink skills/companyenrich/ to:

  • Per-user: ~/.agents/skills/companyenrich/
  • Per-project: /.agents/skills/companyenrich/

Invoke it with $companyenrich, or just describe what you want and Codex picks it up automatically. The included agents/openai.yaml provides Codex app metadata (icon, brand color, default prompt).

Note: Codex CLI sandboxes shell commands with network access disabled by default. Approve the API calls when prompted, or enable network access for the workspace — otherwise requests to api.companyenrich.com will fail.

First use

The first time you ask Claude to use CompanyEnrich, it will ask for your API key, validate it, and store it in ~/.companyenrich/api_key (chmod 600) so you won’t be asked again. Alternatively, set the COMPANYENRICH_API_KEY environment variable — it takes precedence over the stored file.

To rotate or remove a stored key: rm ~/.companyenrich/api_key.

Claude desktop / web app (chat): the skill runs in a sandbox that resets between conversations, so a stored key file doesn’t persist and you’d be asked again each chat. To avoid that, add My CompanyEnrich API key is to your project instructions (or profile preferences), or ask Claude to remember it if you have memory enabled.

Credits

API calls consume credits from your CompanyEnrich balance (e.g. 1 credit per company enriched or returned by search, 2 per person, 10 per found email). The skill instructs Claude to estimate costs with free endpoints first and confirm with you before large spends — but the credits used are real, so review what Claude proposes before approving bulk jobs or exports.
