Seedance 2.5 Codex Skill OS
Overview
An approachable AI agent skill that turns an ordinary-language video idea into recommended Seedance 2.5 settings, clear reference roles, and one paste-ready prompt. Community project. Not an official ByteDance, Jimeng, or Dreamina product. Seedance 2.5 changes the default video workflow instead of merely adding new parameters to Seedance 2.0: - Standard generation supports 4–30 seconds with timestamp-controlled story beats. - Ultra-long mode handles complete 30–180 second narratives. - Native extension keeps accepted footage and generates only what comes before or after it. - Multimodal reference expands to as many as 30 images, 10 videos, and 10 audio files, including audio-only input. - Smart Edit, Advanced Edit, and Video Edit can repair a local problem without regenerating everything. - Green screen, white-model rendering, multi-panel storyboards, viewpoint changes, BGM separation, and seamless transitions are first-class workflows.

Community project. Not an official ByteDance, Jimeng, or Dreamina product.
Why 2.5 OS
Seedance 2.5 changes the default video workflow instead of merely adding new parameters to Seedance 2.0:
- Standard generation supports 4–30 seconds with timestamp-controlled story beats.
This project therefore does not copy Seedance 2.0 prompt recipes. It rebuilds routing, prompt structure, reference ownership, and failure repair around Seedance 2.5.
What it does
| Goal | Ask the Skill |
|---|---|
| Short video | Create a 10-second cinematic product ad. |
| 30-second story | Create a 30-second vertical healing story about a girl adopting a stray cat on a rainy night. |
| Ultra-long video | Write a complete 90-second sci-fi story with an opening, turn, and ending. |
| Image to video | Make the person in @Image1 turn toward the camera. Keep identity and clothing unchanged. |
| Multimodal reference | @Image1 controls identity, @Video1 only supplies motion, and @Audio1 controls rhythm. |
| Native extension | Extend @Video1 by 10 seconds and preserve motion and camera continuity. |
| Precise edit | From 0–8 seconds, change only the blue trousers inside the red box to black. |
| Green-screen composite | Composite the green-screen subject from @Video1 into the night street in @Image1. |
| White-model render | Use the blocking and camera path from the white model in @Video1, then render a realistic sci-fi scene. |
| Storyboard generation | Follow the panel order in the nine-grid @Image1 and create a coherent 30-second video. |
| Failure repair | The character changes face and the transition is rough. Diagnose it and rewrite the prompt. |
Quick start
Install the Skill, then ask your AI assistant in plain language:
Use $seedance-25 to create a 30-second vertical healing short:
a girl brings a stray cat home on a rainy night.
The Skill returns:
- The recommended mode, duration, aspect ratio, and resolution.
- A role map for every reference asset.
- One complete prompt ready to paste into Jimeng/Dreamina.
- One practical note that prevents the most likely failure.
No T2V, R2V, timeline-script, or white-model vocabulary is required.
Install
Clone and install
git clone https://github.com/allenGKC/Seedance-2.5.git
cd Seedance-2.5
./install.sh
The installer copies the Skill into the default personal skills directory. If an older installation exists, it creates a timestamped backup first.
On Windows PowerShell:
git clone https://github.com/allenGKC/Seedance-2.5.git
cd Seedance-2.5
.\install.ps1
Manual install
If your agent supports manual Skill installation, copy the complete skill/seedance-25 directory into the personal skills location documented by your client. Restart the client or open a new task so its skill list is reloaded.
Using reference media
Upload the media first, then give every file exactly one job:
Use $seedance-25.
@Image1 controls the girl's identity. @Image2 controls the cat's appearance.
@Video1 supplies only the rainy-night tracking movement; do not transfer its people or location.
Create a 30-second 9:16 healing short.
Clear ownership matters more than a long prompt: identity, action, camera, environment, sound, and timing should not compete across references.
How it works
ordinary-language idea
↓
choose generation / long video / extension / edit
↓
assign one responsibility to each reference
↓
build a timestamped prompt when the story needs phases
↓
return one recommended setup and one paste-ready prompt
Design principles
- Beginner first: if the idea is clear, generate directly instead of starting a long interview.
- One best answer: return the strongest default prompt rather than handing the user a menu of near-duplicates.
- Native 2.5 workflow: prefer ultra-long video for long stories, editing for local defects, and native extension for continuation.
- Explicit reference ownership: identity, action, camera, scene, sound, and time each get a clear controller.
- Bounded claims: Jimeng Web documentation is not presented as a universal API or third-party-platform limit.
- Honest observation: media that cannot actually be viewed or heard is never described as inspected.

Validate
python3 scripts/validate.py
The validator checks Skill metadata, required files, internal references, unfinished markers, and UI configuration. The same check runs automatically on every push and pull request.
Sources and scope
Seedance 2.5 capabilities and parameters are primarily based on the Jimeng Seedance 2.5 User Guide, last reviewed on 2026-08-02.
Those numbers describe the Jimeng Seedance 2.5 surface documented there. API availability, third-party routes, pricing, model IDs, regional access, and UI behavior can change; verify the current documentation for the platform you actually use.
