A repeatable, AI-assisted workflow for turning slides and planning notes into reviewed facilitator guides.

Обзор

A demonstration of using project context, design requirements, and AI skills to turn source materials into facilitator guides, with human review throughout development. This is the guide-building example from my AI System for Learning Programs portfolio project. - , built from the sample slide notes and planning notes. - , showing what meets the requirements and what needs your attention, followed by your next step. You resolve the open questions, request corrections, and review the revised guide before approving it. Start with the guide requirements, template, and example guide. The Build Guide and Check Guide skills explain how to use them. The requirements define five review results: . Findings stay visible for human review; a positive result does not approve the whole guide. 1. Open the repository in an assistant that can read and write project files, such as VS Code with Copilot in agent mode. Have it read .github/copilot-instructions.

1. Download and open the sample

GitHub is the website holding these files. Visual Studio Code is the app where you open them and chat with Copilot, its AI assistant.

  1. Download and install Visual Studio Code if needed, then open it.

  2. Set up GitHub Copilot in Visual Studio Code and sign in. You need a GitHub account with Copilot access; create an account if needed.

  3. Open this project’s GitHub page. Select the green Code button, then Download ZIP.

Find the ZIP in Downloads and unpack it:

    • Windows: Right-click the ZIP → Extract All → Extract.
    • Mac: Double-click the ZIP.
  4. In Visual Studio Code, choose File → Open Folder…. Select the unpacked folder containing README.md, drafts, and standard. If another folder is inside it, open that folder to find those items.

  5. Click the chat icon at the top of Visual Studio Code to open Copilot Chat. Make sure Agent is selected. This mode lets Copilot read the project files and save the draft.

The Chat icon is near the top-right of the window. The Agent menu is below the message box, near the bottom-left of the chat area.
