A nightly newspaper that writes itself: an agent runs the desks, the figures come from code, and it refuses to publish an edition with marks in it.
개요
Your own nightly newspaper — written overnight from your calendar, budget, feeds, notes and a couple of live data feeds, and printed the way a real broadsheet is. A real edition from this generator, printed by the engine and served as a static site. Arrow keys turn the pages; shows the markdown behind any of them. The four data desks ran for real, so the weather and the markets in that edition are live figures. The seven stories and the front page were written with Claude while the desks were being built, not by a small local model, and a nightly run on a modest local model reads plainer. Every article's provenance is recorded in samples/edition/PROVENANCE.md. A run, start to finish. Every line of that terminal is real output: the desks, the check that caught a 27-character table cell, the fix, and the check that came back ok: true, clean: true. The paper on the right is what it printed. Pages one and two of the live edition, captured from the site above.

What wrote what. The four data desks ran for real, so the weather and the markets in that edition are live figures. The seven stories and the front page were written with Claude while the desks were being built, not by a small local model, and a nightly run on a modest local model reads plainer. Every article’s provenance is recorded in
samples/edition/PROVENANCE.md.
A run, start to finish. Every line of that terminal is real output: the desks,
the check that caught a 27-character table cell, the fix, and the check that
came back ok: true, clean: true. The paper on the right is what it printed.
Pages one and two of the live edition, captured from the site above. The lead is the reader’s own Friday in the order it will happen, written after every other desk had filed. The boards are live figures; the stories were written with Claude, not a local model — see what wrote what.
✨ Highlights
- A paper, not a feed — a front page, sections, charts, quotes, and an end.
- Runs on a small model — every desk is a short prompt over a little material, so a modest local model is enough.
- Numbers come from code — data desks render tables and charts in Python; the model never invents a figure.
- Self-correcting — every desk runs a write → check → fix loop and won’t publish on red.
- Nightly, unattended — one cron job and the paper is waiting at breakfast.
- Yours — masthead, sections, sources and desks are all files you own.
